While progress has been made in understanding drug-mediated stroke prevention, the influence of statins and blood lipid levels on intra- and extracranial plaque characteristics during acute stroke requires further study. Using high-resolution vessel wall imaging (HR-VWI), we aim to examine how statin use and lipid levels affect plaque features.
